Description: On March 19, 2019, plaintiff wad lawfully in the vicinity of 44th NYPD precinct, Bronx, to retrieve the keys to her vehicle, when defendant police officers, without any probable cause or legal justification, approached plaintiff for no reason other than her race and questioned her. Plaintiff provided her registration to prove that the vehicle is registered under her name, yet the officers lied to her and insisted that her husband's permission was required to release the vehicle. Defendants then used vulgar and obscene language and pushed plaintiff out of the complaint room and the precinct, even though her presence there was lawful and that she was holding her 5-year old child. Description: On May 28, 2017, Plaintiff Douglas was lawfully in the vicinity of East 169th Street and Grant Avenue in the Bronx, New York. Defendants NYPD Officers Corey Graves, John Doe, and John Roe stopped, searched (including a strip search), grabbed, assaulted, battered, and detained Plaintiff absent an arrest warrant, probable cause, reasonable cause or any legal justification. Thereafter, Plaintiff Douglass remained incarcerated for over 24 hours and was required to make numerous court appearances over an extended period of time until all charges against him were terminated favorably. Plaintiff Douglas sustained physical and emotional pain and injuries as a result of this incident.
