Complaint
Description: On April 22, 2021, plaintiff Blake was in police custody in Manhattan. Defendant Officers Abadia, Polanco, and Castillo attempted to move plaintiff, while handcuffed, from a holding cell. Plaintiff slipped on a puddle of water and fell. Defendants then returned plaintiff to the cell, and applied a set of shackles to his ankles. After doing this, and while plaintiff was fully restrained, defendant Castillo pushed plaintiff against the wall, and defendant Abadia began to repeatedly beat plaintiff in the head. After a few moments, plaintiff was moved to a different holding cell and defendants Polanco, Abadia, and Castillo all continued to beat him with their hands, feet, and arms.
