Complaint
Description: On April 9, 2019, inside 1060 Stebbins Avenue in the Bronx, Defendant officers, including Paul Cruz, unlawfully arrested, restrained, assaulted, battered, imprisoned, and humiliated Plaintiff without just cause or provocation. Plaintiff was falsely charged, and a criminal complaint was filed against him on April 10, 2019. He remained in custody until his release on April 11, 2019. Criminal charges against Plaintiff were terminated in his favor on November 27, 2019.

Description: On September 24, 2019, Plaintiff JOHN FUENTES was illegally stopped, searched, detained and subjected to excessive force by defendants NEW YORK CITY POLICE OFFICER PAUL CRUZ, NEW YORK CITY POLICE OFFICER JOHN DOE, and NEW YORK CITY POLICE OFFICER JOHN ROE. Plaintiff was arrested by defendants without cause or justification. Plaintiff remained incarcerated for over 24 hours and was required to make numerous court appearances over an extended period of time until all charges were dropped in Plaintiff's favor. Plaintiff sustained physical and emotional pain and injuries as a result of this incident.
