Description: On May 30, 2017, at approximately 4:00 p.m., Jose Lopez was in the vicinity of 510 East 146th Street in the Bronx, New York, when several NYPD officers, including Police Officer Marlin Murphy, Police Officer Andres Gomez, and Lieutenant Eric Dym, approached him without an arrest warrant or probable cause. The officers stopped, searched, and detained Lopez, using aggressive and excessive force. Lopez was subjected to a strip search while in police custody, despite the absence of any legal reason.
