Description: On June 26th, 2014, Plaintiff Bessie Daniels was in an automobile accident. Plaintiff was at the site of the accident when Defendant Officer Katz abruptly arrested Plaintiff for an outstanding warrant for an alleged suspended driver's license. Plaintiff responded that she did not have an outstanding warrant and that she wanted to fo to the hospital. When the ambulance arrived, Defendant Officers handcuffed her to the gurney, increasing her discomfort. Plaintiff was escorted to the hospital and through the halls by Defendant Officers in handcuffs, causing humiliation for Plaintiff. Description: On August 26, 2012, plaintiff was lawfully present at 96 Gordon Street, Staten Island, NY. NYPD officers rudely approached plaintiff, despite not engaging in unlawful activity. Plaintiff and an officer verbally sparred with each other. Plaintiff leaned down to place his daughter in her stroller. Plaintiff was grabbed by defendant officers, restrained in a chokehold, punched in his face, taken to the ground, kicked in the chest, and handcuffed.
