Complaint
Description: On August 17, 2015, the plaintiff was lawfully participating in a protest, when Sergeant Slavin violently grabbed a female protestor and forcefully brought her down to the ground. The plaintiff, along with other protestors, yelled “Shame” and “who do you work for," after which Slavin aggressively approached the plaintiff and grabbed him in a headlock. Slavin then took the plaintiff down to the ground in a chokehold on the street and placed a knee on the plaintiff’s body, later handcuffing and arresting him. The plaintiff was then transported to the 17th precinct and was held in a cell for over two hours, held against his will under full force of arms.
