Complaint
Description: On February 26, 2019, while the plaintiff was operating a motor vehicle, NYPD officers, including detective Craig Jacob, unlawfully stopped and searched the vehicle and the plaintiff's person. The defendants arrested the plaintiff for possession of a forged instrument, despite the plaintiff providing ample evidence of having a valid license plate. During the arrest, the defendants used excessive force, placing excessively tight handcuffs on the plaintiff's wrists and bending his arms back awkwardly. After the plaintiff was taken to a precinct, he was maliciously prosecuted.
