Description: On August 27, 2022, NYPD officers Danny Rodriguez and John Does approached and assaulted the plaintiff while he was in his vehicle at the intersection of Flushing Avenue and Washington Avenue in Kings County, New York City. Without an arrest warrant or probable cause, the officers violently pulled the plaintiff from his vehicle, threw him to the ground, held him down, shot him with a Taser and other conductive energy devices, and forcefully placed him in handcuffs. The plaintiff was then placed in a police car, taken to the 88th Precinct, and later escorted to Kings County Central Booking. Complaint
Description: Three defendant officers arrested the plaintiff with violent and excessive force. The defendants repeatedly struck the plaintiff on the head and in the face, until the Plaintiff succumbed to various injuries, including left medial wall and orbital floor ìblowoutî fractures, which required reconstructive surgery and the implementation of hardware. To any extent that the defendants did not participate in the excessive force, they failed to intervene. The Plaintiff was then transported to a local area hospital.
