On April 30, 2015, at approximately 4:30 p.m., [redacted] was in her home, which is located on [redacted] in Queens. [redacted] was in the living room with her husband, [redacted] and her step-son, [redacted]s parents, [redacted] and [redacted] were also in the house at this time, and were upstairs in their bedroom. Someone knocked on the front door of the house, and [redacted] went to see who it was. Det. Jessica Romance, Det. James Zozzaro, and an ACS worker, [redacted] were standing at the door. Det. Zozzaro told [redacted] to open the door, which she did. [redacted] and the two detectives entered the house (Allegations A and B), and [redacted] explained that they were there because they had received a complaint that [redacted] had been beaten by his father and step-mother.
[redacted] told [redacted] to go upstairs, and then she, [redacted] and the detectives sat in the living room and discussed what had happened. After approximately thirty minutes, Det. Romance left the living room and started walking upstairs. She made it halfway up the stairs when [redacted] asked from the top of the staircase, "Who are you?" Det. Romance replied, "Shut the fuck up and go sit the fuck down" (Allegation C). [redacted] and [redacted] ran to the staircase and started yelling at Det. Romance, who came back downstairs, looked at Det. Zozzaro, and said, "This fucking black bitch" (Allegation D).
Det. Zozzaro called a second police vehicle, and [redacted] and [redacted] were placed in handcuffs. [redacted] was brought out to Det. Romance and Det. Zozzaro's vehicle, and [redacted] was brought to the second police vehicle that arrived on the scene. While [redacted] was waiting in the car with Det. Romance and Det. Zozzaro, Det. Romance asked her, "What the fuck is wrong with your mother?" (Allegation E). [redacted] told Det. Romance that her mother is elderly, and Det.
