Further details on conclusions.
On May 16, 2018, at approximately 1:26 P.M., officers responded to [redacted] located at [redacted] in Queens regarding an assault in progress involving the daughter of [redacted]. Approximately ten officers responded, including Sgt. John Chavatte, who was assigned to the 101st Precinct at the time but is currently assigned to the Emergency Service Unit (ESU). Sgt. Chavatte spoke with [redacted] the principal of the school, and demanded to be let upstairs into the classrooms. [redacted] did not know why officers were there and refused to answer questions regarding what happened or who the students involved were. Sgt. Chavatte told [redacted] that he would arrest her for obstructing his investigation (Allegation A, Abuse of Authority: Substantiated). Sgt. Chavatte later allegedly said that if he went back to the school and no one did as he said, "Someone will go out in cuffs" (Allegation B, Abuse of Authority: Unsubstantiated). Read report for details.
