Summary

On February 7th, 2019, Police Officer James Priore, Police Officer Manny Sharma, Police Officer Nazir Abdul, and Sergeant Damon Martin, all of the 75th Precinct, responded to [redacted] s apartment, at [redacted] in Brooklyn. The officers attempted to gain entry into [redacted] s apartment on behalf of [redacted] s daughter, [redacted] who wanted to retrieve some belongings from [redacted] s apartment. [redacted] told the officers that neither the officers nor her daughter, [redacted] could enter the apartment without a court order. Sgt. Martin told [redacted] that if she did not allow her daughter inside of the apartment, someone might get arrested for unlawful eviction (Allegation A: Threat of Arrest, [redacted]). Roughly fourteen minutes into the interaction between [redacted] and the officers, [redacted] entered her apartment, and told the officers that she would be inside for "a minute." Sgt. Martin followed [redacted] into her apartment (Allegation B: Abuse of Authority – Home Entry, [redacted]) and allegedly pushed [redacted] further into her apartment (Allegation C: Physical Force, [redacted]). [redacted] and her fiancé, [redacted] were both arrested inside of [redacted] 's apartment. At some point after [redacted] was handcuffed, Sgt. Martin allegedly yanked [redacted] handcuffs upward, toward her back, three consecutive times (Allegation D: Physical Force, [redacted]).
On February 8th, 2019, while still in NYPD custody, [redacted] was transported from the 75th Precinct stationhouse to the [redacted] where she sought treatment for high blood pressure. When [redacted] returned from the hospital to the 75th Precinct stationhouse, an officer allegedly viewed [redacted] s medical records, and, in the presence of other officers, remarked upon the treatment that [redacted] received at [redacted] (Allegation E: Abuse of Authority – Improper Dissemination of Medical Information, [redacted]).
