Summary

On June 1, 2020, [redacted] and [redacted] attended a protest against police brutality in Manhattan that marched along Broadway until it turned onto West 29th Street at approximately 8:00 p.m. The group of approximately fifty to one hundred protestors then stood in front of a parking lot located at 7 West 29th Street in Manhattan. A large group of approximately twenty to fifty officers from Mobile Field Force, a group comprised of over 90 different commands, including Strategic Response Group 4 (SRG 4), formed a line in front of the parking lot to block access. After several minutes of waiting, Chief Fausto Pichardo of the Patrol Services Bureau instructed an unidentified Inspector to give the order to "clear" the street of protestors, who then did so. The unidentified officers then allegedly told the group of civilians, "Move, move! You've got to fucking move! Get the fuck out of here!" (Allegations A-C: Word, [redacted] Allegation D: Word, [redacted]). The group of unidentified officers then allegedly began to shove people in the back with their batons, including [redacted] and [redacted] in an attempt to move them toward Broadway and out of West 29th Street (Allegations E-G: Force, [redacted] Allegation H: Force, [redacted]). Once the group of protestors reached Broadway, the officers retreated, and the protestors dispersed, with [redacted] and [redacted] leaving for their home. Read report for details.
