Description: On May 31, 2020, plaintiff was part of a march and street protest formed to protest systematic police violence. When protesters arrived at the intersection of Canal and Church St, they were met by a phalanx of NYPD officers in riot gear blocking the protestors from continuing their peaceful march. The protestors, including plaintiff, stopped, put their hands up in the air, and began chanting "hands up, don't shoot." Plaintiff observed NYPD supervisory personnel, including Chief of Patrol Fausto Pichardo, conferring with the officers. Plaintiff, who has cancer and heart conditions, was handcuffed, denied medical attention, and taken to the 25th precinct. Description: On June 6, 2012, defendants began banging on the door of the plaintiff's apartment. Plaintiff's brother opened the door and defendants forced their way into the apartment. Defendants grabbed Plaintiff and dragged plaintiff into the kitchen of her apartment. Plaintiff's bedroom was then searched without permission or authority. Defendant Bliss then demanded to know where Plaintiff's babies were located. Plaintiff stated that she did not have any babies. Plaintiff was then arrested, handcuffed and transported to the 25th precinct. All charges brought against plaintiff were subsequently dismissed.
