Summary

On May 25, 2021, at approximately 9:30 PM, Sergeant William Perritt, Police Officer Brian Brandefine, Police Officer Corey Behan, and Police Officer Stephen Malvagna of Patrol Borough Manhattan South arrested [redacted] during a protest near the intersection of Thomas Street and Broadway in Manhattan. In doing so, Sgt. Perritt allegedly shoved a woman, [redacted] out of the way (Allegation A: Force, [redacted]). While arresting [redacted] the officers used force to take him into custody (Allegation B: Force, [redacted]; Allegations C – E, [redacted]). A large crowd gathered, separating them from an awaiting NYPD van. To get through this crowd, PO Behan allegedly punched bystander [redacted] in the face (Allegation F: Force, [redacted]). PO Behan also shoved at least one other civilian to make his way through to the NYPD van (Allegation G: Force, [redacted]).
