Complaint
Description: On March 7, 2021, Plaintiffs (Stacy, Shadae, Oshane, and Diamond) were lawfully driving when they were pulled over by an unmarked police car. The police officers got out and dragged Plaintiffs out of their car. The officers repeatedly punched and beat Plaintiffs. Oshane was placed in a chokehold when the officers removed him from his vehicle. Shadae was shoved to the ground and was kneed on her back. Officers tased Shadae twice. Plaintiffs were then detained and taken into custody, where Plaintiffs were denied medical attention. All charges against Plaintiffs were dismissed.

Description: On or about June 29th, 2018, Plaintiff was lawfully present on the street corner when he was subjected to an unwarranted stop and frisk by PO Joseph Sorrentino and Sergeant Michael Nocerino. Even though the search of Plaintiff's person did not uncover any contraband or evidence of any crime, Plaintiff was handcuffed in an excessively tight manner and transported to the local precinct. After being unlawfully detained at the precinct, Plaintiff was then taken to Brooklyn Central Booking. PO Sorrentino and Sergeant Nocerino attempted to instigate a criminal prosecution against Plaintiff by falsely and maliciously informing the DA that Plaintiff was in criminal possession of marijuana.
