Description: On November 14, 2020, Plaintiffs gathered for a memorial vigil in front of the St. Mary's Houses in the Bronx to commemorate the birthday of a loved one who passed away. Without warning or cause, a marked police car pulled up and three of the Defendants jumped from the vehicle. Completely unprovoked, the officers ran over and punched Plaintiff Shakespeare, who was a minor at the time, directly in the face, and proceeded to viciously assault him. Description: On or about December 20, 2016, Officers Jimmy Perez and John and James Doe, stopped, questioned and searched Frankie Santana without probably cause or a warrant for allegedly trespassing in New York City Housing Authority Buildings when he was visiting his cousin. Officer Jimmy Perez did not investigate whether Mr. Santana had a lawful reason to be present in the building and instead provided false information against Mr. Santana to the prosecutor in order to bring charges against him. On February 15, 2017, all charges were dismissed.

Description: On June 3, 2014, Defendants Police Officers Jimmy Perez, Jordan Castro, Zain Woods, and Daniel Staple handcuffed, falsely arrested, falsely charged, unlawfully detained, and maliciously prosecuted Plaintiff. As a result, Plaintiff was caused to sustain serious, harmful and permanent injuries. Plaintiff continues to be sick, sore, and disabled.
