Description: On December 13, 2017, NYPD officers Lopiccolo, Cinolauro and others approached Plaintiff and his friend as they were walking towards the train. Defendant officers proceeded to question Plaintiff, claiming he was in unlawful possession of drugs, and proceeded to pat him down. Although Plaintiff was not in actual or constructive possession of drugs, the Defendant officers claimed to have recovered a small bag containing unlawful substances. The Plaintiff had not touched the bag, did not know what was inside of it, and was not shown any evidence of drugs at the scene. Plaintiff was incarcerated for 7.5 months as a result of the false arrest. A jury eventually acquitted Plaintiff of all charges on June 7, 2018.

Description: On November 3, 2012, one of four plaintiffs was lawfully exiting a bodega when police officers unlawfully assaulted him, including by striking him in his face and chest with closed fists. Without probable cause or reasonable suspicion to believe he had committed any crime or offense, officers threw the plaintiff up against a car, handcuffed and maced him. Three other plaintiffs started to record the officers' acts on their cellphones. Then, a police officer ran toward a second plaintiff, threw him to the ground, took his cellphone and handcuffed him.
