Description: On June 25, 2011, at approximately 12:30 a.m., plaintiff lawfully exited her apartment in Brooklyn, New York and saw unknown people setting off fireworks.
Plaintiff told the individuals to stop because police were approaching.
The defendants officers, including Officer Thomas Smith, angered by plaintiff's admonition, repeatedly questioned her about the fireworks' location. When plaintiff did not give the officers the informaiton they sought, one officer forcefully grabbed her, twisted her arm against her back, and threw her onto a police vehicle.
She was eventually taken to the precinct, where officers falsely informed the district attorney's office that they saw plaintiff acting disorderly and resisting...
