Description: On or about May 20, 2018 Plaintiff was lawfully in the vicinity of 4034 Broadway when POs Dwight Powell and/or John Doe 1-10 accosted Plaintiff and immediately began to search him without reason or legal justification. Specifically, PO Powell placed his hand in Plaintiff's pocket and removed a legal utility knife, which was not a gravity knife and not illegal in any way. POs then unlawfully placed Plaintiff under arrest and handcuffed his arms tightly behind his back. Plaintiff was taken to a nearby precinct, confined in a holding cell for several hours, and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon. Description: The plaintiff got a ride home from a livery car driver from a friend's apartment to his own apartment. When he went to exit the vehicle the door was pushed shut with him still inside of the car. Three officers in plain clothes proceeded to detain and question the occupants of the car. The officers stated the driver had made an illegal turn at 152nd street, but did not issue a ticket. The officers refused to show their badges, several times told the plaintiff to "shut the [expletive] up", had the plaintiff exit the car and aggressively searched him. Officers left the scene without arresting anyone.

Description: Plaintiff was attending a block party and was on crutches after he underwent surgery on his Achilles tendon. Defendant Officers began dispersing the crowd and Plaintiff was crutching away when officer Powell pushed somebody into him, then slapped him. All Officers began to assault him with their fists and batons , causing severe damage to his injury, and dragged him for a block. Plaintiff was taken to the hospital and charged with Assault in the Second Degree.

Complaint
Description: On or about November 28, 2012, Defendant Police Officer Dwight Powell stopped Plaintiff as he was visiting his girlfriend's building and interrogated him. Next, Plaintiff exited the building to about 100 feet away from it, and multiple police officers including Defendant Police Officer Christina Briones violently slammed Plaintiff to the ground, handcuffed him, and unlawfully searched him. Defendant P.O. Briones arrested Plaintiff. Plaintiff was not released from custody until on or about December 6, 2012, and charges were not dismissed until February 13, 2014. Plaintiff suffered emotional injuries as a result.
