Description: On September 2, 2019, Plaintiff Ricardo McDonald was riding in an Uber when the Uber was pulled over by multiple NYPD officers. Among these officers were Sergeant Charles Schwartz and Detective Devin Baker. The officers ordered McDonald out of the vehicle and proceeded to forcefully grab and choke McDonald around the neck, despite having no basis. McDonald was then handcuffed, placed in a police vehicle, transported to the 67th Precinct against his will, and imprisoned for several hours until release. McDonald was also falsely charged with disorderly conduct, based upon Baker's false allegations.
