Description: On August 8, 2014, Frank Pirone was standing around Forbell Street and Conduit Boulevard when a group of police officers pulled up in an unmarked car, got out, and began accosting Mr. Pirone. The officers asked Mr. Pirone what he was doing and slammed him up against a fence. They began to hit Mr. Pirone in the face to the point where they fractured his jaw, an injury which required surgery heal. At no point did Mr. Pirone resist arrest. After beating him, the police took Mr. Pirone to the hospital where he remained for three days due to his injuries. Description: On May 8, 2013 Plaintiff Candace Jackson and a passenger were pulled over while driving by NYPD officers Christopher Alvarado and Jay Rivera. PO Alvarado ordered her to step out of the car, alleging that she was stopped when her tail light was broken. Plaintiff told the officers her tail light was not broken, to which they told her to shut up. The officers began searching Plaintiff's car without consent, and three more officers arrived (John Does 1-3). THe officers searched Plaintiff's car, handcuffed her and her passenger. Officer Alvarado then alleged he found marijuana. Plaintiff was taken to the precinct, photographed, and fingerprinted, and given a DAT. The DA's office later declined to prosecute.

Description: On January 11, 2013, Plaintiff was walking down the street in Brooklyn, New York. NYPD Officers—including Kyle Stanley and Jay Rivera—ordered Plaintiff to stop walking from inside their vehicle and then searched Plaintiff. The officers handcuffed Plaintiff, and then slammed him into the ground and struck him in the head and chest with their hands and feet. At the precinct, Plaintiff was subjected to a strip search. Plaintiff was then transported to the hospital, where his injuries were treated. Plaintiff was diagnosed with a collapsed lung and nine rib fractures.
