Description: On August 9, 2019, at approximately 3:00 a.m., Darius Garcia was lawfully present near West 176th Street and Davidson Avenue in the Bronx when he was approached by NYPD officers, including Officers John Doe and John Roe. The officers, without probable cause, searched, grabbed, assaulted, and detained Garcia, using excessive force. He was handcuffed and physically restrained during the arrest. Garcia was falsely charged with crimes, including assault and possession of controlled substances, and was held for two days before being released. Garcia claims to have suffered significant physical and emotional injuries as a result of the wrongful arrest and the force used.

Other POs saw PO Ravelo's unconstitutional actions against Plaintiff yet did nothing to prevent them. Plaintiff was taken to the 69th Precinct where he was falsely imprisoned. PO Ravelo was verbally abusive to Plaintiff throughout the incident. Plaintiff suffered physical and emotional injuries as a result of this incident.
