Summary

At approximately 11:50 p.m. on April 12, 2020, ACS staff inside Crossroads called 911 to request NYPD support after they lost control of detainees inside the facility. NYPD responded. During the incident, officers allegedly drew firearms (Allegation A: Abuse of Authority, [redacted] allegedly pointed them at [redacted] and other individuals (Allegations B and C: Force, [redacted] allegedly threatened to shoot individuals (Allegation D: Abuse of Authority, [redacted] and allegedly used OC spray against individuals (Allegation E: Force, [redacted]). PO Jon Derise of the 73rd Precinct pointed his taser at individuals (Allegation F: Abuse of Authority, [redacted]) and spoke discourteously to them (Allegation G: Discourtesy, [redacted]). PO Brian Mahon of the 73rd Precinct pointed his taser at an individual (Allegation H: Abuse of Authority, [redacted]). an officer spoke discourteously to individuals (Allegation I: Discourtesy, [redacted]) and an officer allegedly used a taser against an individual (Allegation J: Force, [redacted]).
