On May 15th, 2021, at approximately 2:30am, [redacted] informed [redacted] that she was considering suicide. [redacted] alerted the police, at which point PO Marco Monegrosantos and PO Jose Rivera, both of the 44th Precinct, responded to [redacted] in the Bronx. After speaking briefly with [redacted] near the apartment door, PO Monegrosantos and PO Rivera led [redacted] outside to speak with EMTs. An EMT informed [redacted] that she would need to go to the hospital. [redacted] walked towards [redacted] at which point, PO Monegrosantos allegedly used a chokehold, restricted [redacted] breathing, and forcibly took [redacted] to the ground (Allegation A - C, Force: [redacted]). PO Monegrosantos allegedly knelt on [redacted] neck, restricting her breathing for a second time (Allegation D - E, Force: [redacted]). Once on the ground, PO Monegrosantos allegedly punched [redacted] in the side near her ribs with a closed fist (Allegation F, Force: [redacted]). During this time, [redacted] attempted to pull PO Monegrosantos away from [redacted] and PO Monegrosantos allegedly pushed and hit [redacted] in the face near her left eye with his radio (Allegation G - H, Force: [redacted]). [redacted] still on the ground, then bit PO Monegrosantos, allowing her to break free from his grasp and stand up partially.
Police Officers Joseph Graziadio, Dennis Castro, Emmanuel Fernandez, Ariel Gonzalez, Xavier Perez, Gustavo Ochoa, Onyx Salvador, Jennifer Rivera, Zachary Lavender, Vincent Fortino, Ana Alba, Alexis Muniz, Dania Caceresolivo, Christopher Williams, Michael Espenberg, Alexandre Ramirez, Enver Lopez, Edward Batista, Justin Ortiz, Nicholas Rivera, John Carbone, Paul Basilone, Jordan Nunez, Yesenia Rengel, Andrew Shon, Sergeants Erik Duran, Michael Bowman, Orville Temple, and Detective Wilfredo Benitez, all of the 44th Precinct, and Police Officers Steven Moran and Luiggi Feliz, of PSA 7, arrived on scene to assist PO Monegrosantos and PO Rivera.
